Privacy policy
This policy explains what data we collect and why. It covers the Instagram account @rebecablushy, the app we use to manage it, and the website rebecablushy.com. "We" means Megaphone, the team that runs @rebecablushy.
1. Our Instagram app
We use an app connected to Instagram through Meta's official API. It manages only our own account, @rebecablushy. It:
- publishes posts to @rebecablushy;
- reads statistics for @rebecablushy's own posts (such as reach, views and likes);
- reads comments on @rebecablushy's posts, meaning the commenter's Instagram username and the comment text, so we can reply to them. Some replies are written with automated tools and some by a person after review.
The app does not read direct messages, follower lists, or anything outside @rebecablushy.
2. What we keep, and for how long
We keep comment text, commenters' usernames and our replies in log files on our own computer, for running the account. We do not use a cloud database for this. Logs are deleted after about 90 days.
3. The website
rebecablushy.com is hosted on Cloudflare. We count visits and button clicks to see how the page performs:
- Visits are counted with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and does not track you across sites.
- Button clicks are counted as an event name and country only. We do not store IP addresses or build profiles.
- When you confirm you are 18 or older, your browser remembers that choice on your own device (local storage). It is never sent to us.
The button leads to a separate subscription website, which has its own privacy policy.
4. What we don't do
We do not sell data, share it with third parties, use it for advertising, or profile anyone. Meta (Instagram) and Cloudflare process data under their own privacy policies as the services we use.
5. Deleting your data
You can ask us to delete any data we hold about you, such as your comments and username in our logs. Email privacy@rebecablushy.com with your Instagram username. We will delete it within 30 days and confirm by email. More detail: data deletion instructions.
Removing your comment on Instagram also removes it from Instagram itself. Our log copy goes when it expires, or sooner if you ask.
6. Age
@rebecablushy and this website are for adults (18+). We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
7. Changes and contact
